TRUE FACTS ABOUT DIABETES

CAUSES OF DIABETES
- Inheritance (your parents or grandparents had diabetes)
- Living in Latin America (genetics of this people are more likely to have diabetes)
- Obesity (increases the activity of the Pancreas until the point that it may stop working properly)
- Toxic substances (mainly those one that affect the functioning of the Pancreas)
- Pregnancy (rises the activity of Pancreas)
- Pancreatic diseases

EXTREME COMPLICATIONS WITH DIABETES
- Progressive blindness.- The excess of sugar crystals scratches internal blood veins of the eye until the point they break it causing an internal bleeding in the eye and then casing the blindness.
- Lost of limbs.- For alterations in the circulation, decrease in nervous functions, those people are more likely to have infections due to a wound.

Although diabetes is mainly related to genetic facts, we can perform a series of action in order to delay it or for reducing as much as possible it´s complications:
- Exercise
- Weight control
- Sticking to your meal plan
- Make a blood test at leas one time a year
